USJ New Faculty of Medicine R & A Najjar Building
Located in the heart of Beirut, the USJ Campus of Medicine project has a unique site characterized by its century-old emblematic architecture and botanical garden.
The new faculty was conceived accordingly to the existing trees and buildings.
The project is divided into two parts framing an exterior covered atrium that will form a cultural, educational and social hub.
The new entrance on the South-East corner through the garden will allow independent access from outside to the auditorium.
The two parts of the project are connected by glass bridges but also the library spanning the void of the atrium, enjoying a beautiful view of the garden and the campus.
A large roof, covered by photovoltaic panels, shelters the whole project.
The South-western façade along the Damascus road is protected by green columns echoing the green garden facing it across the road.
This system serves also as acoustic and solar protection.
